This has been going on since March when Justine announced that MN had hooked up with Vodafone to develop an app.

It's a work very much in progress. We weren't happy with the first version so we're revising it. It's a complicated project and involves several people on three continents, so far. It's not like we're holding it back! We are really keen to make it available as soon as we can.

can i just ask - will it be possible for the page to turn sideways?

i use mn on the ipod, and my eyes are too old to cope with how small the text is if i keep the page upright, or i have to keep scrolling from left to right, which makes me travel sick!

Any news then? Dare I ask if there is going to be an iPad app next? Or will it work on both?

We are building an app which will work on the iPhone and Android. It will work on the iPad too, albeit in iPhone x2 mode.

It doesn't currently support turning to landscape, but the fonts are a pretty good size and should be clearly visible to most people.

As for when, it'll still be a while I'm afraid. However, we do have a Mobile version of the site up and running which should work well on most devices.

We will release it all as soon as we can. Watch this space.

Ack it's taking a bit longer than we thought to develop - but we are in the back and forth ironing out bugs and glitches bit so it shouldn't be too long now. (If you detect a note of desperation in my voice, you're not wrong.)

Will you have super-duper extra-strength iphone apps so you can delete threads and expel trolls while in the bath?

I think that MNHQ need one of those remote control wands that was on Dragon's Den a while ago.

Hmm, Helen. Not sure about the Expelliamus wand tbh. Can you imagine if Olivia had had one last weekend. She would have a serious case of carpal tunnel syndrome in her wrist from all the flicking.
