nickname confusion

hi Why am I unable to log on using my usual nick name? Up until a couple of weeks ago I was able to login and talk using my usual nickname 'redsky', and now I can only login with a user name I used to use very occasionally -'hellsbells4'. Can I go back to being redsky?
