Mumsnet is everywhere, even in my OU course materials...

Haven't posted in ages, but was just so amused just now to discover a paragraph about Mumsnet in my OU course book. It's in DD101, Book 2 quoting a study called "Exploring relationships between the public, private and personal through the phenomenon of Mumsnet.com". I don't suppose you need the full Harvard reference? Grin

tyg

What the bloomin' heck are you doing here? Is this studying now? What a brilliant excuse!

Tis soh btw.

I'm going to perfect an airy 'dh I'm studying human behaviour' line. Of course if he looks over my shoulder it'll be bumsex and cupcakes but even deviant human behaviour needs cakey fuel.

MaMoTTaT · 17/09/2010 15:54

haha - that's cool Grin

nymphadora · 17/09/2010 15:56

Ooh now when will it expand into a whole course ?

frakkinnakkered · 17/09/2010 15:59

I wanted to do my linguistics research project on MN (with the OU!).

Mumi · 17/09/2010 15:59

I wonder if including MN in course "DD101" was intentional :)

Grin @ RFP. I didn't think I'd be "spotted".

Shock and lol at DD101

JustineMumsnet · 17/09/2010 16:55

Oooh how, erm, bizarre. I often explore those relationships through MN too Grin. does it conclude anything do you know, twelveyeargap?

Rethinking the Public It's chapter 3 Justine, though unfortunately Google Books doesn't allow us to read the full text. I don't fancy paying £58 for the privilege either!

That said 'public' and 'personal' rather a lot didn't it?
