If a post is reported and subsequently deleted,is the poster informed by e-mail of the deletion and the reason for the post being deleted.I know the reporter gets an e-mail but just wondering about the poster.

Not usually, bubbles4. We reckon "Message deleted by Mumsnet" usually says it all!

But you are welcome to mail us at [email protected] and ask why a post has been deleted.

Is there a deletion in particular you want to ask about?

Thanks for replying,I recently reported a post because it racially discriminated against an ethnic minority, the post in question was deleted by MNHQ,but this left me wondering that unless the poster was informed that their post had been deleted and why, they might never see that they had caused offence and in the case of the post I reported ,possibly broke the law.

OK, well, if a poster's posts are repeatedly deleted for being racist (or otherwise breaking the law), we do mail them and warn them that, if they continue to post in this way, we'll most likely ban them from Mumsnet for breaking our Talk Guidelines.
