dropinthe · 01/09/2005 15:52

MN Towers did once post a link to the First Thread. It was something really dull about potty training or weaning or something equally thrilling.

I dont think mumsnet was meant to be controversial when it first started. wasnt it something about travel? I sort of assumed that the first posters were justine and carrie under different nicknames, and their friends and rellies.

SoupDragon · 01/09/2005 17:33

The first thread was, apparently this one.

compo · 01/09/2005 17:35

lol people still don't know it's not netiquette even now to shout!

biglips · 01/09/2005 17:36

omg that was a llooonnnggggg time ago, even before i met my fiance and a month before i started my new job which i was in for 5 yrs

Nightynight · 02/09/2005 09:17

I didnt realise that was the first thread! I remember reading it, shortly after.

zippitippitoes · 02/09/2005 09:29

things clearly moved a lot slower in the olden days, can you imagine a thread on dummies that long to get 11 posts now!!!

Nightynight · 02/09/2005 12:03

there were only 7 active discussions one day...

coppertop · 02/09/2005 12:07

Hmonty seems familiar. Was that Tech in disguise?

Gobbledigook · 02/09/2005 12:27

PMSL - 'my eighteen month year old twins...' - my friend does that - months and years together!!
