Here

Yes, I know there are many, many threads about this issue. I thought this warrented attention.

shit

Blu · 25/08/2005 11:10

Inevitable.

Fio2 · 25/08/2005 11:10

have they paid their subs?

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 11:12

utterly inevitable

cant understand why they did it at all?

sorry, mumsnet, bonkers.

littlemissbossy · 25/08/2005 11:12

Last updated yesterday.. info from a mumsnetter no doubt

WigWamBam · 25/08/2005 11:12

Doesn't put Mumsnet in a good light to be linked by the media to this, does it?

Tinker · 25/08/2005 11:14

Thanks for posting it BB.

QueenOfQuotes · 25/08/2005 11:14

"cant understand why they did it at all"

well considering how many people on here DIDN'T know the exact laws on advertising of formula you can't expect everyone that runs a website (and therefore earns revenue from advertising) to know them too...

soapbox · 25/08/2005 11:15

I think MN are going to live to regret their foray into this form of advertorial.

I think their credibility as an impartial parenting website has been completely shot to hell.

I think some urgent thinking needs to take place at MNHQ and that needs to consider the long term future of this site, along side the short term financial needs. A bit of strategic thining needs to be done I think!

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 11:15

er

even I did

If mumsnet had put as much thought into it as they said, you'd expect them to know.

After all, there are plenty of people on here who could have told them

aloha · 25/08/2005 11:15

I think this campaign does look increasingly dodgy.

milkymouth · 25/08/2005 11:15

I would really like to think it's because I alerted them to it(but I'm sure I was only one of hundreds!)

Very very positive development.

compo · 25/08/2005 11:16

has there been an official statement made from Carrie or Justine on any of the Aptimal threads?

Blu · 25/08/2005 11:17

QoQ - At least one member of the MNHQ team is a lawyer, and it's a hot topic. I'm sure they thought about this.

LIZS · 25/08/2005 11:17

Thanks for that posting - could this bring MN itself into disrepute for hosting it ?

Tinker · 25/08/2005 11:18

I'm pretty damn sure mnhq do know a bit about the law QoQ. It's been spelt out here often enough.

spacecadet · 25/08/2005 11:21

blimey.

JoolsToo · 25/08/2005 11:26

hunker? is that you?

BadgerBadger · 25/08/2005 11:32

As far as I know, yes, the Baby Feeding Law Group are seeking prosecution of MN along with the others flauting the law and WHO regs.

So they should, IMO.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 25/08/2005 11:33

They are actually seeking to prosecute Mumsnet for carrying the ad, Badger, as well as Milupa?

JoolsToo · 25/08/2005 11:37

I'll be a character witness

BadgerBadger · 25/08/2005 11:42

WWB, that's what I've gathered from the site, they seem to be targetting the promoters of the ad as much as Milupa itself.
I've emailed to ask. I don't know whether I'll receive a reply, but I'll post it if I do.
