Bunkbeds - where to buy/avoid?

I want some bunkbeds for ds1 and ds2. Probably can't run to Aspace or Thuka prices. So have been looking at the Joseph ones. Also the M&S ones. However, I'm a bit peeved that the latter, although reduced, now come without mattresses. Though I could probably get away with buying only one mattress providing the beds were a standard single size.

Anyway, less of the rambling... There's so many bed companies out there, some with shocking reviews. Is there anywhere you'd particularly recommend or not, as the case may be?

Thanks .

We got ours from Dreams on a really good deal. The boys love them and they are standard size so you could go somewhere cheaper for the mattresses? The service was great and the sales people really actually listen when you ask questions and re really helpful.

Have fun shopping!

Thanks, that's useful to know - sometimes I get so fixated with shopping online I forget I can go to an actual real-life store !

Anyone else have any recommendations?

We got a fabulous Stompa bed from Gumtree at approx 15% of rrp and it's as new ... (though 8 years old). Would definitely recommend looking (and even asking) on Gumtree.

We got ours from Aspace, but on a sale. I think they do quite regular sales with good reductions.

Thanks for your replies. Still mulling it over - the dc will be teenagers by the time I decide, I reckon .

Did you find your bunk beds in the end? Just noticed some here some of them are in the sale.

definitely measure your room well for head space (I am sure you have ) 'cos matresses differ in thikness

look at Stompa, very sturdy and will last forever, but they were too big for my dd's - ebay has many
there are different designs - some versatile, some not
so playing with dimentions will take you ages

Thanks both - no, I haven't bought them yet - I think I did less faffing research when I bought my house!
