Hi,

Please help - we don't know what car seat to go for. We don't drive (eco-thing) so just want one for taxis/grand parents etc. We were going to go with the maxi-cosi as we are getting an icandy pushchair and they are compatible. However just realised you have to cart a massive base attachment about with you - hardly practical for public transport - you just lose the advantage of the car seat being compatible. So I think we need a seat belt installation only one - which is best? Which? recommend Graco - anyone have any experience? any non drivers out there got any tips for managing this whole scenario?

You don't need to use the base for the Maxi Cosi. It is still a very good seat without the base. Its also quite light compared to other seats if you are carrying it around.

we have been really happy with our Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix. We have the base and it makes fitting much easier especially if you are in and out the car all the time but it is easy to fit without the base and is very, very popular. I think 95% of our swimming class seems to use them as everyone lugs the carseat into the changing rooms (apart from me as DD is too heavy!).
Also if it fits on your pushchair that is another plus for convenience.

We had a maxi-cosi without base and was a very good carseat.

Well we got a car seat from argos for £45 that will last him up until he is 4 years old.

it's big but not that heavy you can grip it easy at the back, we got it for him to travel in grand parents cars.

It suits our needs, easy to attach and sits in the cupboard when not in use.
