We currently have a 3 door Toyota Yaris which is awkward for my elderly MIL to get in the back seat. Plus we are planning a second child. Any recommendations for a good family car that could comfortably fit two car seats in the back plus and adult and has a reasonable sized boot. Thanks

I would have said a vauxhall astra but avoid the 05 chain driven year as apparently they left the factory with a fault which comes about at about 40k when the cam shaft snaps and fooks your engine (as i found out last week), i am really fooked off.

Budget?

well, may be a bit bigger than you're thinking of, but we have a volvo v70 and LOVE it

Citroen Berlingo!
The new ones are FAB. We have one as my son's motability car. Big enough space for all adults without being cramped, the boot is mahoosive (can chuck a wheelchair and ton of shopping) and the MPG is good especially the diesel.

Granted they have a chunky look but I have been very pleased with ours and the high seating makes it easy for anyone with poor mobility to climb in

Just got the Peugeot 3008. Decent size in the back seat. Not tried more than one toddler car seat in but have had 2 adults in the back at the same time. Boot is fab. Deep so your shopping doesn't roll out and a divider shelf that means you can put the pushchair underneath then load all your shopping on the shelf still inside the boot. SUV style drop tailgate is perfect for changing nappies . If you need something bigger still look at the new 5008 as an alternative to the Galaxy (fold flat seats)

I have a Citroen C4 and I don't really like it TBH. I used to have a Renault and it just seemed to be better quality. Bits keep coming off the interior of the Citroen whereas the Renault was solid. Won't get Citroen again....
