Scholl sandals have ruined my feet!

I bought some lovely pale blue scholl sandals last year but couldn't fit them on my feet due to pregnancy bloat. Found them yesterday hiding in the cupboard and thought hmmmmmm, great.

Well, they have rubbed my poor feet raw and they now look like they have been in a fight with a razor, horrid.

Has anyone got these shoes and do they eventually become comfy? If not they are going in the bin, only been worn once! (or up for grabs if you have size 6 feet.....)

Lara2 · 18/07/2003 21:19

I have some silver Birkenstocks I bought in the US a couple of years ago. LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

codswallop · 18/07/2003 21:19

show biz I think

bossykate · 18/07/2003 21:26

lara2, you are so fashionista...

cods, oh yes, plus ruched parachute silk trousers with high stiletto heels... there is a boutique near us and it is so fashionable every time i've been in there, my first thought has been "oh my god, what have you come as..." wouldn't have thought it would sell to our demographic either. ex-city sahms...

but hey, what do i know? have posted on mumsnet previously in tedious detail about the inadequacies of my wardrobe and fashion sense...

codswallop · 18/07/2003 21:27

Mwah mwah dahlink

bossykate · 18/07/2003 21:31

oh i am so not "mwah, mwah"! i actually kiss people on the cheek not air - such a faux pas! can't take me anywhere!

codswallop · 18/07/2003 21:33

lick their cheek next time then run off sniggering..Oh no sorry that is what the dss so to me.

bossykate · 18/07/2003 21:49

but i know so few people... will have to try it on complete strangers... maybe in lidl???

bossykate · 18/07/2003 21:49

i'm sure in waitrose it is de rigueur...

Lara2 · 21/07/2003 19:41

Thank bossykate - I do try hard!!

What is scary though, was an old friend digging out pictures of us on the beach when we were 14/15 and we were wearing what is in every High street shop now! AAARRRRGGHHHHH!!

butterflymum · 21/07/2003 19:48

hello everyone

decided to plumb new depths of inanity here by updating you all on my birkenstock situation!

enid, thanks for the tip, went to my local branch of white stuff a couple of weeks ago and they did indeed have the coveted footwear.

downside was the limited range of styles, colours - a function of how popular they have been this year, i think. ended up with the "arizona" in taupe suede, not my first choice by any means, but given the limited amount of time i spend shopping for myself, i figured half a loaf etc.

anyway, have seen lots of other people recently with the "dr scholl" style ones in really pretty colours - and am thinking i have made an expensive mistake. also think the reason i am so chronically dissatisfied with my wardrobe is that i am always making these compromises...

well, sorry for being so trivial, not expecting any advice, thanks for the original comments and thanks for listening!

bossykate · 13/08/2003 20:31

obviously, if i had the dr scholl style ones, the arizona ones would be the ones i was mooning over!

aloha · 13/08/2003 20:40

BK, you can buy Birkenstocks online - can't remember the link but google it and it will come up. I bought a bright red single strap pair, but I still like my denim Dr Scholl's better, they seem more flattering to me. Ds picked my Birkenstocks out of the wardrobe a few months back and announced, "Dada's shoes' which was a bit disheartening

bossykate · 13/08/2003 21:04

thanks aloha, you are right, but i needed them for my holiday (going on sunday, hurrah!) and the website was saying a min. 3 wk delay... so i felt, a bird in the hand...

thanks again also for the ghost outlet tip. have not pursued it as obviously don't need "transitional" maternity wear now, but will definitely keep it in mind. was pretty shocked by ghost prices when i went to the notting hill branch a few weeks ago, most expensive marquees in town! just kidding...

oliveoil · 14/08/2003 12:20

butterflymum - my feet have recovered but now have attractive fading scars on them that get highlighted in the sun . The offending shoes have been banished to the wardrobe again. Saw a women in H&M/Hennes with some white ones on and SHE wasn't limping hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Have a nice holiday Bossykate! Hope the weather holds for you - somebody told me once if you wore Birkenstocks in the rain they disintegrated! Not true surely???

bettys · 15/08/2003 10:31

Too late now probably bossykate, but the Natural Shoe Store in Richmond is where I got my Birkenstocks (they even had pink ones).

tigermoth · 16/08/2003 08:26

For future reference, TKMAX sometimes stock birkies and scholl shoes for a reduced price, so if you're near a branch take a look. I love birkes, get blisters with scholls. I have two paars of birkies, one from the birkenstock shop in covent garden (a reduced pair in the sale) and my favourties,(probably not originals) whicc also sport a Red or Dead logo. The upper is covered in a shiny plastic flowery orange, white and yellow 70's wallpaper type patten. Nice, honestly!

I really need a pair of go with anything ones, though, just like the pair you've bought BK.

RockingRosebud · 16/08/2003 20:11

I'll recognise you if I ever see you out and about in those then Tiger! I was lucky enough to go to the Scholl shop in Chester last week and bought a pair with Velcro - yum and soooooo attractive.

Birkenstocks are so busy they can't take any more orders. Sounds like someone needs sacking to me!

codswallop · 16/08/2003 22:06

RRR how was menorca?

oliveoil · 25/05/2004 14:33

Update:

Found these b**stard shoes in the wardrobe again whilst looking for old baby clothes, they still rub and I HATE THEM. Does anyone want them? They are scholl sandals, size 6, blue turquoisey colour.

I do not have manky feet, they don't smell or anything!!

Going in the bin if no answers by 4pm

bundle · 25/05/2004 14:35
