Scholl sandals have ruined my feet!

I bought some lovely pale blue scholl sandals last year but couldn't fit them on my feet due to pregnancy bloat. Found them yesterday hiding in the cupboard and thought hmmmmmm, great.

Well, they have rubbed my poor feet raw and they now look like they have been in a fight with a razor, horrid.

Has anyone got these shoes and do they eventually become comfy? If not they are going in the bin, only been worn once! (or up for grabs if you have size 6 feet.....)

Try Birkenstocks, they look similar but are without a doubt the most comfy shoes I have ever owned.

I have every colour of Birkenstocks in most styles, I only bought the others to try and be different! Ha, that will teach me.

I've only got a pink pair but i love them! Someone told me you can get silver ones which I dream about....

I've got the catalogue.....I also have the new flowery ones and everyone comments on them. Heidi Klum (supermodel babe) has designed loads of new ones which I have yet to see in the shops.

I have three very old pairs of Scholls which I can't part with because they are sooooooo comfy.
Worn and past their best, but still in use. I love them!

Such a pity you have had problems - just goes to show what is one persons like is anothers dislike (for whatever reason).

Sore feet are no fun - get rid of the Scholls (even though it breaks my heart to say that)!

oliveoil · 18/07/2003 09:53

Were they comfy straight away or did you have to break them in (!)?

All three were comfy from day one (know this doesn't help you).

Only thing I can suggest, if they are 'hard', is possibly rubbing vaseline or similar all over the rough parts (on the inside!) and letting it soak in - may just soften them enough for a second go (have used this on other uncomfy sandals, but not Scholls though).

Will try that later, ta for the tip.

Have to go now as work have given me something to do, how dare they, anyone would think I was paid to be here.

Will check later for anymore tips....

ooh, birkenstocks, want to get some for hols next month, does anyone know if you can get them on the net? tia.

eefs · 18/07/2003 10:43

I second the vaseline tip - it's worked for me on shoes before.

florenceuk · 18/07/2003 10:48

bossykate, you can get birkenstocks by mail-order - just google it and the link should come up. where are you going on hols - somewhere warm?

bossykate · 18/07/2003 10:54

thanks, florenceuk, i'll try it. we're going to dorset so no guarantees re the weather - we were very lucky last year though, so fingers crossed!

florenceuk · 18/07/2003 10:56

Here's the link: birkenstock uk , but they say there's a 3 week delay! You may need to queue at Covent Garden...

suedonim · 18/07/2003 12:38

You can buy a spray from Scholls to stop blisters and sore patches, it's very effective. I yhink it's called 'blister treatment'.

PS my feet love Scholls!

bossykate · 18/07/2003 15:49

thanks, florencuk, have had a look and think i will go for either the arizona or the gizeh. what do all you other birkenstockers have?

bossykate · 18/07/2003 15:50

sorry my spelling is rubbish today!

Enid · 18/07/2003 17:40

Bk, I got mine from White Stuff clothing chain if there is one near you. Mind you, I managed to get the last pair (luckily pink, luckily size 7)...

Enid · 18/07/2003 17:44

last pair in the Islington branch, not the whole chain! Whereabouts in Dorset are you going?

codswallop · 18/07/2003 18:53

Ramses in white

codswallop · 18/07/2003 18:53

(I would go for)

bossykate · 18/07/2003 19:43

cods, it looks like the gizeh is v. similar to the ramses, great minds...

enid, yes there is a white stuff near me in the nappy valley street of dreams northcote rd, i noticed it on the birkenstock website today and thought i would wander down there and have a look, especially as i need some more "mumswear"...

we are going to charmouth. went last year with some friends and their kids, best holiday since ds was born, so we are all going back there again this year.

thank you both for the tips.

codswallop · 18/07/2003 20:03

apparently white is very in

bossykate · 18/07/2003 20:17
