Ihad a car crash on Monday, nothing too serious but bad enough.I automatically thought we would have to buy a new car seat but when the AA man came to tow the car away he said we could get the seat stress tested to see if it had been damaged at all.Has anyone done this or should i just go with my instincts and buy a new one?

I'd buy a new one and claim it from the insurance. I've never heard of stress testing them before.

SoupDragon · 17/07/2003 12:32

I assume you were all OK?

leander · 17/07/2003 12:52

I agree with your instincts, and Loobie and SoupDragon - I'd get a new on and claim on the insurance. Better to be safe I think.

Just buy a new one, then you can be absolutely sure it'll be safe.

Leander I know that some garages do stress testing but they are hard to find. I know someone who bought a second hand car seat last year which had not been in a crash but had it stress tested anyway and it came back fine. How old is your DS? Will he fit in a stage one car seat? If so I know one going begging if you need a temporary solution.
