New iphone - when will the old one go down in price?

I am on the verge of getting an i-phone 3GS. Do you think the price of these will go down if I wait a few weeks, due to the new one coming out yesterday?

My OH got one just under 2 mths ago and the price has definitely come down since then

the 32GB on O2 24mth £30pcm was £249 for the handset
now £149 but out of stock

Why do you need to go for the bigger memory? I was going to go for 8gb, is that a bad idea?

I'd get in quick if I were you as there are problems with the signal on the new phone, so they might put the prices back up on the old one sharpish.
