rollerblind style stairgates

Has anyone used the rolledblind style stairgates?

They look too good to be true.

We ordered one and then found them too complicated to fit - DH would have had to remove bits of the skirting board. Think friend had similar problem.

So never actually used them though - but ease of fitting is worth bearing in mind!
