Superhero suits without 'muscle padding'?

Finding it really difficult to find a superhero suit without muscle padding for my 3 year old. Feels odd/wrong dressing him up in 'muscles'! Husband says I'm being oversensitive and is only fancy dress!

Muscle padding is hilarious on little kids. My nephews had costumes with it and kept trying to bounce off each others' chests. Bang, splat, cry, then 5 minutes later trying it again.

I found a Spiderman costume without the padding - I think it's horrible, besides the costume was for my DD!

Think it was from ebay, hang on I'll have a look.

So glad to hear it's not just me that gets freaked out by the fake muscle thing, spongecake! (Lord knows why, though. But they give me the heebie-jeebies).

CerealOffender · 19/06/2010 22:32

it is freaky

Just in case anyone misreads my post - I think the muscles are horrible, not the costume I ended up buying for my DD, which is decidedly cute (she wears it to every party)

Thanks all - I'll check out Hopscotch. And Lionstar - that looks awesome! At least I haven't seen one with groin padding. Yet.

I got a superman costume from Amazon without muscles for ds1 like this. I think they're hideous (ones with muscles).
