Hi
I need any of your thoughts/opinions on which is King of the Vacuum Flasks: glass or metal?!
We are just tired of being oh-so-careful with all our glass-lined flasks - i.e. in fear of them breaking en route to wherever we are going!
We have tried out 1 of the new - nicely unbreakable! - metal vacuum flasks. We wanted to see how it fared in comparison to our older glass Thermos flask (one of the giant Thermos flasks, bought about 10 years ago, with a plastic outer shell & multiple cups). To see if the metal flask's indestructible nature makes it worthwhile switching permanently from our older glass-lined Thermos.
However, the metal version seemed to keep the liquids LESS HOT than our glass-lined Thermos.
Were we just unlucky with our metal flask? Or is this a generic problem with all metal flasks?
Any ideas as to which type of metal flask any of you can recommend? e.g. are some 'stopper/lid' styles better than others, perhaps?
Or maybe it's the brand we are going wrong with?! P.S. I hate to state any brand name (which might be perceived as 'advertising' one particular brand over another), but we are wondering if not using a well-known brand of metal flask might be our problem?! We thought we'd try one of the non-Thermos lot for a change, so bought an alternative, & a cheap alternative at that. (Hmmm, maybe that was NOT a good idea??!!)
All help appreciated!
