Window locks?

Well we have just finished decorating DD's lovely new room and have realized that the window opens at the bottom, which is annoying as DD is obsessed with looking out of windows. It is a new UPVC window so what can I get to make it safe. She gets very hot at night so have to have the window open. Any suggestions would be greatly received.Thank you.

In DSs room there is a catch in the frame so you can open it about 4", then to open fully you have to pull the window back abit and lift a tiny flap - impossible for a child unless they are shown exactly how. You would probably need a new window though as it's right in the window hinge. Is there no small window I take it? DSs is one large square that opens from the bottom.

hi we got locks put on all our windows upstairs when we got pvc put in. we were told by the sales guy that they just screw onto the frame and cost about £1. they sound just like asld's locks and work very well.
