Summer baby - carrycot?

Hi, We're expecting bubba number 2 in July and are in a bit of a quandry. Our first child was a winter baby and this 'new born in summer' thing is baffling me.

We currently have a Maclaren XLR techno buggy, which, on the whole has suited us well.

Basically, DS rarely uses the buggy now, so we're thinking about putting a buggy board onto the back.

Then, I'm thinking about using a carrycot initally so that baby is rear facing and cosy (we didn't have the Maclaren from birth for DS, but it looks too 'roomy' for a newborn....)

Would a carrycot be too hot in the summer?

Sorry about the long-winded story - any ideas gratefully received!
(We'd rather not buy a whole new pram if poss!)

Thank you.

I personally think that carrycots are better than pushchairs in the hot weather. They provide much more shade and as long as they are roomy enough for the air to circulate, they are nice and cool too.

A couple of weeks ago when it was really hot, we had DS2 (4 months) in a Loola Windoo carrycot on the beach. He was very well shaded and did not overheat at all.
