Which one - Maxi micro or the micro kickboard compact scooter?

Looking to upgrade from the mini micro (fantatic scooter). Torn between the more expensive maxi scooter with 'T-bar' handle or the Kickboard compact with the joystick handle.

Has anyone got either and which would you recommend? It's for a 5 year old boy.

I'd really appreciate your advice.

My 5 year old has the maxi scooter, with the t-bar handle, as does most of his 5-yr old friends and they all love it. However, a lot of them have recently been upgrading to the joystick handle and now they all want it, including my son. Its an extra £25 which I'm a bit loathe to pay having forked out £90 in the first place only 3 months ago, so you may want to get the maxi which already has the joystick handle for £90, if you go for that model, as it will save some pennies down the line. I think the boys think the joystick handle is more "cool"!! Look at what scooters your son's friend's have - he will want the same as they have - no room for individuality at 5 years old!!! It's all about having the same stuff to fit in!

My DD has the Maxi-Micro with the joystick handle, which was the only one they offered initially. She loves it, it's great, moves like the Mini-Micro, but faaaaaaaster.

I'm tempted to get one for ds1 who loves his micro but blimey, SchnitzelVonKrumm, I don't want him to go any faster !

We've just ordered a new back wheel and brake for the mini micro. It was amusing to see the old back wheel is about half the size of the new one - he's done that much braking/skidding etc!
