Mini Micro Scooters- any good? And from what age?

Dd1 is desperate for a mini micro scooter and her birthday is coming up. She would need the bigger size I think as she will be 6. Dd2 will be 2 a few weeks before her, is 2 too young for the smaller one? She very much likes to do what her big sister does! I am torn between that and a like a bike. Any thoughts?

My DD loves her micro scooter, she has the larger one.
Before she had that scooter she had a 3 wheeled Barbie scooter (nice!) and loved that too.
I think that scooters are fab and are def suitable from 2 years of age.

That's great
All her friends seem to ride them to school and anything which will hurry us up in the morning will be a bonus. Also don't want dd2 to be in a pushchair as long as her lazy big sister was so think it might encourage walking a bit!

dd1 got her mini micro (3 wheels) for christmas at 2 1/4. Took her a while to get the hang of; I have many memories of DH pushing her along on it but once she had the hang of it it is fab!! Youe dd2 is more likely to get the hang of it quickly with a big sister to demonstrate; my dd2 (15 months) is already trying to have a go!

Get them from blooming marvellous with 20% off discount code, it was the cheapest way of getting the maxi micro that I could find

HurleySatOnMe · 16/05/2010 14:40

Cargirl thank you, do you have a code?
I've just had the grandparents on the phone saying they're on John Lewis and have seen something dd1 would like. Yep, the scooter so I may not have to shell out for both after all Would like to buy dd2s as cheap as possible though Am I right in thinking the mini micro only comes in blue or pink? I am more miffed than I should be about that

You can get diff colours if you order from the suppliers site - green, yellow and something else I think.

If you only need to buy the mini one loads of places sell them - jojo bebe etc, it was getting a discount for the maxi one that was the issue as they are £90!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're brilliant. My 2 and 4 yr olds zip around on them.

HurleySatOnMe · 16/05/2010 14:50

Brilliant, thank you.I've just done a search and someone posted a discount code yesterday for that site - 'scoot' gets 15% off so I will order dd2s from there I think. I like the green. I was at the price of the big one too, but it seems that the grandparents insist in which case, they are more than welcome to pay for it. But now I need to think of something else to get her . I like the little bags on that site that strap to the front though.

You won't regret getting the micro scooter Hurley - they are fantastic, my kids love them!

I can't find the site 'scoot' - can you link to it? (currently looking for the next one up).
