I want a simple-to-use digital radio for the kitchen which has listen again capability - does anyone have any recommendations?

To get Listen Again you need a Wi-Fi or Internet radio. There are models that are DAB also, but I think that is a separate function.

I have a Quattro www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=tangent+quatt ro&x=0&y=0 that is very good.

As with all home-networking stuff, it can either be as simple as plugging the thing in and pressing set-up, or it can become a total nightmare. It depends on whether you have a strong enough Wi-Fi signal in your kitchen so the radio isn't constantly loading or losing the broadband signal.

I'd get something you know you can return if things become complicated.

Either that or get a cheap laptop and just listen again from the Radio 4 website!

I have two internet radios in my house, I think to get the listen again option they might have to be Real enabled (don't quote me on that) but I do know that the first one I got wasn't and I couldn't get the on demand feature. I tend to stick to the same stations but I've noticed the BBC stations have excellent on demand facilities and I have been known to listen to Jeremy Vine at midnight.

I think they were both pretty easy to set up, one is in my bedroom the other in the dining room and they don't often lose signal. DH set them up for me but it didn't take him that long, I think a case of just typing in the WEP key and giving the radios access to the WIFI set up.

Thank you both for your replies. The penny has now dropped that I need an internet radio, something I was struggling with before. It should be easier to find now I know what I'm looking for .

This isn't quite what you want but I think it's brilliant anyway, and good if you don't have wifi - it's a DAB radio which has a recording facility. You can set it to record individual programmes, or regularly (I get it to do The Archers and The News Quiz on R4 so I never worry about missing it if I'm putting DD to bed) or pause live radio. ROBERTS SOUND 41 DAB Digital Radio

Thank you Rocinante, that does sound good. I'm torn now . I wonder if you can get a bit of kit that does both!
