We're coming to London & need a suitable pushchair

Hi,

DD and I are going to London on Saturday (volcanic ash permitting) to watch DH running the London Marathon.

I don't have a light weight pushchair, just the big heavy one from a "travel system" so I am in the market for a lightweight, easy to manage/ maneuvre pushchair, but I would also love it to be suited to country walks which we do more often than trips to london, anyone have any recomendations?

Thanks,
Dervla

I was going to suggest a Maclaren which would be great for London as it packs up quite small and has a shoulder strap for lugging it about while holding onto a child but I'm not sure it would work for country walks as it has quite small wheels and no real suspension.

We have an older version of this one which was passed down to us because SIL had a girl and couldn't possibly use a the grey pushchair she'd bought for her son - DNiece had to have pink

How old is your DD?

Thanks for replying

DD is 8 months old.

Goldensnitch - thanks, i had a look at the maclaren and the shoulder strap and "one hand fold" seem to definitely put as a strong contender.

I have to say I am tempted by this Graco one given its price. Does anyone have any experience of these?

I manage with no problems with my bugaboo cameleon in London everyday. I am quite considerate of other people so try not to completely block paths but I certainly wouldn't buy another pushchair if you would prefer a country walks type pushchair. I have always found people (even londoners) can't do enough to help on public transport.
