Baby bath for 5mo old?

I need advice on buying a baby bath. I have a five month old, who is not yet sitting on his own, but is a really big boy (8.5 kg). I had a "lounger" type chair that worked well, but the fabric cover mildewed (I've washed it the mildew smell won't come out). www.summerinfant.com/categories_products_view/65/Mother-s-Touch%AE-Large-Baby-Bather.html

I ordered this Tibex plastic one as it looks like it would have good support, but then realized he's already over the max weight.

Everything I am finding seems to be either for a small infant, or for a bigger baby who is sitting independently. Also, I've got a smallish bathroom, so trying to stay away from a giant contraption if possible, unless it folds away.

Any ideas?

My best suggestion is to get in the bath with him yourself! Might not be ideal but it's what I do with mine and tbh I find it easier.

Or heat the bathroom until it is really warm then run an inch of water and lay him in there so he can kick around freely with you watching.

I used to take DS in the bath with me as well - much easier! He has only just in the last 2/3 months been going in the bath on his own and hes 14 months.

Ok, will have to try just going in with him, for now. Thanks!
