First I'm not sure if I am posting in the right bit. Apologies in advance.

Anyone know much about car mechanics. I had to call the AA out and was towed to the garage. the engine diagnostic said that 2 of the ignition coils had gone. Garage have fixed this problem but have said one of reasons these went was that (this is where I get confused) one of the valves have gone and this affecting the injection of fuel. As a result it would not be safe to drive as it would destroy the catalytic convertor and a significant part of the engine.. I can't really afford the bill but I also need the car for work as I work shifts. My DP is really annoyed with the garage saying that they are trying to con me . I feel I have no choice as couldn't bring myself to put my dd in a car I have been told is not fit to drive. Does what the garage say sound feasible?

Can you not phone AA and ask them for over-the-phone advice about it? Isn't that part of their service?

hi, i know how you feel, I work for a accident reapir garage and know it can get mind blowing. Just a thought, have you looked for a specialist repairer in your area for your make of car. Usually they have dealer trainingn but charge a faction of the price. [email protected]
