MAGIC SAND - I CAN'T GET IT BACK IN THE CONTAINER!

I am having real trouble here. The leaflet says to cover the container with kitchen towel and tip over - the water should drain through and the sand should stay in the paper. Last time I tried this it all tipped into the sink and I lost the lot.
Any magic sand experts out there please?

Not tried it, but how about using a muslin instead?

Line a sieve with kitchen paper then tip onto an a4 sheet of paper with a sharp crease down the middle. Fold this up and tip back into the pot?

Use triple sheets of kitchen roll and make sure you hold all round the edge (or as much as possible). Alternatively put an elastic band round it.
OTOH let the kids do it themselves & you'll never have to worry about it again

Ta muchous!! Throwing it all in the bin sounds like a fab option to me. Better have a go at draining it though I suppose - don't want to be accused of being a bad mother now do I?
