Has anyone's dc got one of those projetors that shines stars and planets onto the bedroom ceiling?

Are they any good? Ds wants a 'space' bedroom. I've seen this that from the Science Museum that shines stars onto the ceiling. But is it any good? Or is there something better if not?

Or can I just ask Prof Brian Cox to come and live with us (that'd be more for my benefit than ds though.

DP bought one "for DS" when DS was about 8 months old. I don't think it's ever been in use but then DS is only 2 so ...

What we do have that your DS might like is glow-in-the-dark planets and stars stuck all over the ceiling. Pennies from eBay and really cool at night

DS has a Moon in my Room and he loves it, it has a remote control which we have stuck to his headboard so he can turn the moon on if he wakes in the night. It goes through a lot of batteries so buy rechargeable. He also has glow in the dark on his ceiling, buy white tack to put them up with as the stickies they come with aren't strong enough.

I think that star projector thing got quite negative comments on here when there was a thread about disappointing Christmas presents. It's not bright enough I think.

Ah thanks OF Ds doesn't know about the existence of projectors that might do this and has suggested stick on ones which are a good option, as you say.

But I thought as he's getting quite technical in his old age the more realistic the better if possible.

Ooh sorry bran - thanks to you too. I didn't see your post! Looks like we posted at nearly the same moment. Will check out the moon that you mention - sounds along the right lines
