Pliko P3 - anyone got an opinion?

Have narrowed down my choice for pram/pushchair to the M&P Ultima 3-in-1 or the Pliko pushchair with Navetta Carrycot. As both work out at around the same price and look good, I can't decide which one to get! Does anyone have a Pliko who can tell me what they're like? I have plenty of info on the Ultima, thanks to other mumsnetters, but none on the Pliko. Can't get out to assess them personally as am virtually housebound due to extremely bad SPD. Thankfully, baby is due in five and a half weeks, so might actually be able to walk again without needing sticks and dh to prop me up!

Oh Froggy, poor you ! I hope things improve soon with the arrival of baby.

I have the Pliko Completo (2002 version) and I've been disappointed in it. Yes, the padding and protection is great for a tiny baby and it does provide a realistic compromise between a full pram and a stroller. It also is nice and roomy for when your baby becomes a toddler. The problems I have found with it are.... The shopping basket is rubbish, it is far too small and also it is very prone to holes and tearing. The folding mechanism has broken on mine and it cost me £50 to get it fixed (I was just out of warranty), it was 10 days before I got the buggy back. The adjustable handles also became wobbly within 4 months of purchasing from new. I have spoken to other Pliko Mums and they have the same niggling problems with theirs.

As I say, my buggy is the 2002 Pliko Completo and not the new P3 version so they may have improved on the faults mentioned above. However, having seen the P3 in the flesh it looks more like a 'facelift' for aesthetic reasons than any great structural improvements. Given a choice I'd go with the Ultima if I had the space in my car.

Thanks for the advice - I think I will go with the Ultima. Fortunately, we have a big boot, so no probs there!

Hi there, we have had a Mamas 3 in 1 which was very nice, but we have also had the orginal pliko which we had no major problems with i agree with the basket they are rubbish. But Darlin wife bent my arm to buy here the Pliko p3 and it had been improved in many factors for 1 the basket is alot stronger! but still small the locking devise has change and is easier, the handles are far more comfotable brakes are a lot easier to apply, the footrest comes up as well as goes down(ideal for when little ones have crisps ect)the footmuffs are just wonderful not only doe the seperate to leave a liner but have a zip up the middle making it easier to get the child out handles are also heigher for the taller parent
