Hi, I'm hoping someone has been in the same predicament I now fins myself in and can help me with a solution!
I recently purchased a Renault Megane Grande Scenic and as I have a roofbox, I asked for roof bars to be included in my purchase.
As we are going away for Easter, we ent to fix our roofbox only to find that the fitting are too narrow to fix onto the Aero Roof bars supplied by Renault.
I have been back to Renault as they knew I need the roof rack for a roofbox and they have said that this is the only style of roof bar that they fix. These bars are far too wide for the fittings on the roof box in order to attach it securely.
After doing some research on the internet, it looks like aero roof bars are the wrong sort for roofboxes and we would need square roof bars which are narrower. What can I do if these are the only roof bars that are supplied by Renault? They cost me £135 on top of the purchase of my car and Renault were aware I needed it for a roofbox and now can't provide me with the correct fixtures to secure the roofbox.
Has anyone else overcome this problem? I'd rather ot have to go out and buy new roof bars again (which I can for an additional £100 from Thule).
Many thanks for reading this.
