DD is almost 2 and we used to take her swimming regularly as she had a swim seat thing, but since she has out grown it she just doesn't enjoy it - she is ok if we are holding her but really dislikes arm bands etc... I was wondering what the float jackets/suits were like and if anyone recommend/or not! any in particular??

Any advice greatly appreciated as going on holiday in the summer!!

I recently bought this for my dd2 aged 22 months.

We've only used it once, but it seemed ideal. I used to use armbands and rubber rings for my other dc's, but this gets them into a better swimming position. It kept her afloat but she also had to do a bit of work to stay balanced and move around if I wasn't holding onto her.

Should have said, it's quite £££, but I managed to get it for quite a lot less in a sale recently, so may be worth looking around. Mothercare do their own version, but it's even more expensive.

We have one similar to fatsatsuma, and it works pretty well, although they are not able to stay independently afloat using it - obviously at 2 you would be closely supervising anyway. We were warned about them though becuase kids can get 'stuck' upside down in them because the buoyancy is around their middle, rather than at the top half like arm-bands are.
