Got to have it....but Southend too far or is it??

Gumtree advert for some lovely looking bedroom furniture in Southend and very reasonably priced too - a bargain in fact! But we live in Hertfordshire and DH says too far and by the time we've hired a van and fuel etc etc it won't be worth it....but I think it would. How do I convince him otherwise please?

Find someone who will bring it to you for less than he has priced it at.

Curlylox · 20/03/2010 16:34

Good idea Fab, you wouldn't happen to know of anyone then?

No.

It really doesn't take that long to do the journey.
takes me an hour and 20 mins from southend to hitchin.

Could you look at courier firms?

Curlylox · 20/03/2010 16:45

Didn't think of courier firms was thinking more along lines of removal firms.....as it's from one person's home to another? But it all sounds very costly, have you used a courier firm to transport furniture as haven't got a clue myself?

Sorry I don't but you may find it cheer than hiring a van

norksinmywaistband · 20/03/2010 16:50

duh cheaper

Curlylox · 20/03/2010 17:08

Ok thanks norks

Ooh just had a thought, what if I don't like it once it has arrived?? There are photos of them and they look good but still.......mmm wondering if anyone here lives in Southend who could pop round and have a look at the furniture please????

It is best to have a look yourself - go down for the say, enjoy the beach, if you don't like it, it is still a good day out

norksinmywaistband · 21/03/2010 16:26

I could go and look for you, but as electrofagz says, best to look yourself.
We could always join you for a rossis on the beach

Curlylox · 21/03/2010 17:36

Of course both norks and electro are right......will have to make the trip, let's hope seller will be patient enough for me to make the trip and if not ho hum I suppose
