Microchip cat flap?

Anyone have one of these? And can they withstand bastard giant cats trying to break in?

Bloody brilliant! Make a click as the microchip activates so you know when your cat is coming in. Only thing we have yet to see is what happens if a cat is right on one of ours tails. DH reckons it would get in. I reckon it would probably pause enough for the flap to shut.

Sorry, waffled and didn't answer your question. The neighbours cat has given it a good go and can't get in. She is not impressed!

The sites aren't positive about the 'following cat' problem. At any rate, I don't have that problem, I have the 'big bastard toms coming in at night and pissing in my house' problem.

Thanks, though, that sounds positive. Which brand do you have? I seem to only find Pet Porte and Sureflap out there.

We have a SureFlap one which we got from the vets as it was the cheapest way- no p&p and they ordered it in having checked that it worked with the microchips they used. There are swarms of cats in our street and one of the neighbours regularly finds 5+ cats in her kitchen. Didn't fancy that!
