How do you feel about the HARRY POTTER book coming out at midnight when children are in bed?

Do you think it is fair on them?

Do you think that it should be at 6 or 7am or something like that?

DS wanted to go at midnight with DH and we have said no.

So we have agreed a deal that DH will go and get it at midnight and DS will get it in the morning first thing.

But is anyone here letting their child go and get it at midnight?

So are you going to let them stay up all night to read it?

At the weekend or on school holidays he stays in bed til 7 usually reading

He is in bed at 7.30pm

BUT even if he is later to bed, he still is awake at same time, so even when he has been out to a wedding party 'til midnight he is still up in the morning

So it just wouldn't work for him

Aww let him go RTKM. It is the weekend after all

Imagine all the cuddles you'll get when you tell him he can go!

He is asleep already

And he already agreed to reading it in the morning before drama performance

Oh dear, this thread has made me wonder if I'm a bit sad! Am counting down the hours and will be at ASDA for midnight. DD is 3, so it is for me.

Why would anyone go at midnight, tesco had hundreds left on saturday afternoon anyway. Your all mad!!!!

SleepyJess · 17/07/2005 22:12

Because it's damned good Scribble! Harry Potter is in a class all of its own.. they are more than just books.. it's like a movement!

RTKangaMummy · 17/07/2005 22:12

like I said it wasn't the fact that they would SELL OUT

It was so that DS could read as soon as he woke up

Surely it is good to get children to love books

I KNOW THEY WOULDN'T SELL OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the books as well but unless there is a national paper shortage they are going to print enough books to last until at least 8am . If DS was desperate we would have gone first thing in the morning. We picked one up in the evening along with the shopping.

I can't believe that this would be considered a problem!!

I just preordered mine and waiting for/having it delivered by the postman was far more exciting than trotting off to a shop at midnight or having it there waiting when I woke up.

Kind of like it arrived by owl really
