My Bl@@din' fridge!!!

The oh so fabulous built-in fridge we had installed with our kitchen three years ago has given up the ghost!
The hinges are hanging off and we are currently wedging it shut as it keeps flying open for no reason. We have no room for anything other than another built-in monster. I feel like ripping all the units out and buying a big pink smeg!

DON"T BUY A BUILT IN FRIDGE - they are expensive crap.

I have a big pink smeg, they are BRILL!
No help to you, but if it is any consolation we are having a new kitchen fitted next week and my big pink smeg will probably no longer fit (we are in a military house and have no say over the design)
the agony of trying to be "withit"

Can't someone repair it gingerbear?

gingerbear · 15/07/2005 20:25

it can be repaired - 80 quid call out charge - or 45 quid for new hinges.
Our local co-op are selling fridges for 90.

gingerbear, we had something like this happen with our old fridge, and a handyman replaced the hinges.

It did eventually fail, but £20 or something worth of hinges kept it going for another couple of years.

They were special hinges, not just regular ones.
