thermometers

I need to buy a thermometer, until now I have managed with one of those little plastic strips that you place on the forehead, but feel I need a proper thermometer now. I quite fancy one of those digital ones that you stick in the ear. Are they any good? Would anyone recommend them? Or do you prefer another type? Thanks for your advice.

I think they are excellent. We bought a Braun one years ago. After almost 3 years it went wrong, so I called their customer service to see if I could get a part to fix it, and they sent me a brand new top range model instead, free of charge! So I highly recommend them if you get a digital one. They even sent a freepost label for me to return the old one.

I like the electronic ones too. Bought one years ago and the battery only ran out last month.

We originally bought a digital one that goes under your arm, but it took soooo long to come up with the actual temperature, Ds (then under one year old) would be thrashing around screaming whilst we stuggled. - Solution? a Braun one that you stick in your ear, instant. And now, Ds is 21 months he really likes having his temperature taken, money well spent. Mothercare also do one Here which is £10 cheaper!

Boots also do a cheaper one which you don't have to replace the ear piece every time you use it(just wipe it clean with a wipe).
