How do I remove scratches from oak flooring?

kitchen fitters stored big lumps of wood in my hall (oak flooring) and now they've used them to fit the ceiling I am left with annoying big long scratches (although not deep) .. anything I can use / get cleaner to use to get them out??

(the wood they stored wasn't oak flooring it was supports for suspended ceiling .. the floor is oak iykwim)

I had heard that rubbing a cut walnut will help darker woods??

the beeswax stuff you polish it with also absorbs some of the lighter scuffs
