Removals firms in London
SamboM · 20/06/2003 10:40
Hi can anyone recommend a good and not too expensive removals firm? I would like them to pack too, never had this before, do they come in on the morning of the move and pack it all then?

They will come and pack on a couple of previous afternoons or mornings, leaving you with only what you need to get by, if our experience is anything to go on. It is WELL worth the extra outlay, SamboM!
I think we are the wrong side of town for you but we have good experiences of two "local firms for local people": Whitewoods of SE9 and Mortimers of SE3. We used the latter ourselves and they were just great. And cheap. My SIL used Whitewoods and they were very professional in the face of what sounded like dire provocation to me (but dearer, or perhaps they charged her a nuisance surcharge...)
I can get numbers for these if you want but am sure their equivalents exist in SWetc.

used ward thomas a couple of times - very good, based in battersea but cover london, might be worth comparing quotes...

We got our mover through an internet site. If you type in removals it produces a site where you put in all your details and it gets you about 7 or so quotes. I'll look for the name of the company we chose from the list.
