"Un-godparent" baby-naming gift ideas?

My "god-daughter" is having a baby naming party soon. We're all non-religious and I'm struggling to find a suitable gift for her.

She'll be 1 but I want something useful or wearable that will last her whole life or at least that she can enjoy later. Can one give a girl port or whisky? Maybe that's just what I'd like to be given, ideally a cask of it...

All ideas, but nothing with cute animals/fairies/words, welcome. Thanks

Champagne might be more girly, but would also be v expensive to get something that's going to be good to drink in 20 years or so...

We bought birthstones for our god-daughters (one was blue topaz, which was nice and cheap, but the other was ruby - yikes!) Gave them the stones with a promise that we'll get them made up into earrings, ring or whatever they want when they're 21. (At the time that seemed like some kind of far-out point in the unimaginable future, but one of them is 15 already. Better start saving up and brainwashing her against trendy designers who use a lot of platinum...)

Gosh that's such a nice idea, the birthstone one that is, champagne doesn't last long enough does it?

Hmmm, god-daughter's stone is diamond which I suppose means can be as expensive or cheap as we like and at least easy to find although it's a shame it's not a distinctive one like ruby or topaz.
