Lost amazon voucher - any advice?

My son was given an Amazon voucher at Christmas. Finally decided what to spend it on and he can't find it. Anyone know what Amazon do in this situation? It was from a relative who should still have proof of when they bought it?

The person who bought it will be able to get the voucher code number from their Amazon account's history of past orders. It's just the code number you need.
