I can't remember who was lamenting the lack of proper boys PJs without characters etc all over them but I found a lovely pair of stripey cotton shorty PJs in the Pumpkin Patch sale today. Proper PJs with buttons

I usually keep an eye out for Jasper Conran checked ones in the sale in Debenhams or in e-bay.

aloha · 11/07/2005 19:13

lovely blue check pjs with shorts and short sleeves, seven pounds in Sainsbury's

flashingnose · 11/07/2005 19:16

Don't the White Company also have "proper" ones? Bet they're not £7 though .

vickiyumyum · 11/07/2005 21:06

M&S usually have one pair of old fashioned pjs, though if you go looking now, you will only find winter pjs.....because it is winter now isn't it?

vickiyumyum · 11/07/2005 21:10

i thought we were tlking about proper pj's with button up tops etc not jersey t-shirts and trouser sets.

i can highly recommend boden and white company, wash lovely and have just passed some of ds1's down to ds2 and they still look almost new!

fishfinger · 11/07/2005 21:11

Now you can see why she stopped modding shopping
Vertbaudet and La Redoute do good, cheap cotton poplin and flannelette ones. They are often a mixture of plain and French prints - ds has some jaunty orange ones with little peppers on them.

vickiyumyum · 11/07/2005 22:03

not that bothered just that in my experience when i have brought ones form primark/tesco/asda for about £3/4 they fall apart after a few washes and so imo are a false economy. i have some that i paid £9 for in the boden sale 6 years ago for ds1 that ds2 now wears and they look as good as new.

although i'm sure that they would prefer ones with the incredibles or nemo on!

whimsicaltrifle · 11/07/2005 22:14

Am scared to put DS in PJs as he takes his trousers off and will soon work out how to unpeel his nappy... Don't want to wake to morning cave paintings...

Also, Ladybird do them sometimes (good old Woolworths)

tassis · 12/07/2005 18:21

last winter I got gorgeous tartan brushed cotton button up the front ones for ds in asda

lilaclotus · 12/07/2005 18:21

saw some in the kays catalogue

Demented · 12/07/2005 18:40

I got some nice brushed cotton checked winter ones in Aldi for DS1 last year.

Demented · 13/07/2005 23:32

LOL I knew that the mention of "Aldi" would kill the thread!

Janh · 13/07/2005 23:36

Matalan have some very sweet printed dark blue brushed cotton ones with buttons (if Aldi didn't do it Matalan will, Demented!) but only up to age 3-4 I think.
