I can't find the right sandpit

MIL offered to get ds one for his birthday, and I asked for the ELC starfish one, so she got him that old-fashioned blue seashell one with two sides. ( but that is another thread! ) which I HATE HATE HATE so it's going back.

However I've rethought the starfish one, because I mind twins who are just under two and I have a feeling all 3 will want to get into it and it looks too small frankly.

I need one preferably under £30, and I don't want an inflatable one. Needs a lid too!

Any suggestions

here it is

here is the lid

DEFFO BRILL yes will fit DS and friends

Sometimes they play from outside or inside

RTKangaMummy · 11/07/2005 13:52

Yes it is good price for the both together

We've got the TP one. ds1 got it 4 years ago and they still play with it. It can fit 3 sitting inside as it has little seats. and the boat lid is also great. We got ours delivered from John Lewis and they will also deliver large bags of sand to save you the trouble of buying it separately.

MIL got us sand, and toys, (she's sweet really lol) i just hate the shells one. Does the lid fit snugly, I need to stop cats getting in it.

I think ours cost £14.95 each and were delivered free.

The lid does fit snuggly - rests on top but there are no gaps

RTKangaMummy · 11/07/2005 13:59

I fill zip lock bags with the sand that goes on the floor and then use them as weights for the lid IYSWIM

We got a lovley wooden one from B&G for £20 that cover with a cover. Love it. Easily enough space for 3 children to sit in!

ToysRUs do a plastic hippo with a lid .. and I've had at least 5 kids round it any one time

dd got this one and it was RUBBISH. it filled up with water inside the plastic and we cannot get it out. also, i just could not get the two sides to slot together.

JiminyCricket · 12/07/2005 18:30

Don't get the b & q one imo - looks lovely but 1) the cover isn't waterproof 2) the screws they supply aren't long enough and it keeps falling apart - v flimsy construction.

Another vote for the TP boat shaped one with lid. John Lewis are selling them at the moment for £33.90.
