Need opinions on possibly vinyl kitchen cupboards! - check out the link and tell me what you think

Currently have kitchen cupboards in oak. Looked lovely for about 5 minutes when they were new (we didn't have them put in, the builder did and we bought the house new) - but are completely impractical, have become horribly stained and watermarked. Can't be varnished apparently as that would look 'wrong'

Am planning to replace kitchen. Going to spend a bit of wonga so I want something that looks equally 'smart' in 5 years as it does now. Kitchen gets heavy duty use - am proper cook (she says, raising herself to full height) not some takeaway / ready meal Queen .

Anyways a salesman recommended these have a look.

They look fine to me but am nervous about them being vinyl and whether they will look plasticky and cheap. Yes I could go and look at some in a show room - but in the interim, do any of you have cupboards like this and can you advise?

We replaced our solid oak cupboard doors with cream laminate last year and are very pleased with them. They wipe clean very easily and don't look at all cheap and plasticky. We too wanted a kitchen which would last so invested in black granite worktops and porcelain tiled floor with underfloor heating. The whole thing has been much admired. Hope this helps with your decision.

Oooh - did you have the same problems with your oak units?

Good to get some positive feedback.

How is the porcelain tiled floor for showing 'dirt'? (I have a couple of dogs, one of them sheds thick black hairs)

(In the hope that someone else has an opinion on vinyl units)
