DS loves having a backpack when we travel. He often gets travel sick so he carrys a change of clothes, a snack, a magazine and/or book and a couple of toys.

His old backpack has come apart at the seams, but it was a bit too small anyway and as it was a cheapy it wasn't all that comfortable for him to wear.

Please recommend a backpack that will be comfortable, looks fun/interesting, will be good for his back (ie spread weight evenly). DS is 5 yo so not too big, but not tiny either.

TIA.

Deuter and Vaude make great kid's backpacks. Try www.littletrekers.co.uk or gboutdoor for a good selection.
My son had the Deuter Schmusebar in nursery and it was great. It's still going strong but now he's 7 he's upsized to a Deuter kids.

Thanks Jajoom, I've had a look and they look sturdy and attractive if not terribly exciting, DS would probably prefer a pattern of some sort, like fish or dinasaurs. DS is a tall-ish 5 yr old, do you think I should skip past the schmusebar and go for the next size up?

what about the samsonite ones, they're quite cute for kids, sammies I think they're called.
