We are considering getting one of these for our toddler's bedroom as our normal monitor has just died. Will be used when baby arrives later in the year too

Do you have one? would you recommend it? Which do you have? any comments? what is the quality like?

thanks so much

We bought one on ebay and it was rubbish - terrible picture quality, hissed all the time and packed in completely after about a fortnight. Also the plug adaptors kept warming up rather alarmingly. I can't find them to check the brand for you - I suspect they were binned/recycled in disgust - but I know they were Chinese and I think they were these:

Why do you want a video monitor?

An audio monitor should be good enough for the baby, and unless the toddler is ill heaps you shan't need to be listening all the time.

Are you naturally v anxious? This way lies madness, honestly

we have an o-baby one, not sure if they still do them, but it is very good and i can use it as a handheld telly as it picks up the signal from our av sender seriously its hilarious to watch what toddlers get up to!

Oh - I am interested in this thread and have the same query.

Our DS + DC2 (still to be born) are on a different floor of the house...I used to spend so much time going up and down when my DS cried at night because I couldn't live with myself if they were in 'trouble' i.e. lying in sick/caught in blankets/limbs stuck in bars. If I had known that DS was 'fine' I would have let him cry it out for a little longer whilst lying horizontal in the comfort of my own bed!

If there is anyone else out there who can recommend one (or not), I'd be so grateful.

Many thanks
