I am about to replace my aging tumble dryer and a couple of people have mentioned that a gas one is so much better than an electric one.I didn't even know they were an option.
Does anyone have any experience of them?

what?!!!

I have never heard of a gas tumble drier.

Are they confused?

There is vented or condensing but have never heard of a gas fired one.

No, there is definitely such a thing. A British Gas Repair man told me about them and said they knock spots off the electric ones and dry items a lot quicker. Also my BIL works in a company that deals in household appliances and he's mentioned them before.

Actually, i've just done a Which? search on them and it's come up with this.

Looks quite good and a lot cheaper to run than electric tumble dryer.
