I thought I'd just lost all the recent photos of my beautiful 6 week old baby girl .
On Friday when I went to look at some pictures I'd taken of her earlier on, there just weren't any there. The camera said there were no photos at all on the memory card, not the recent ones, or any that I'd taken before that. I had downloaded a few before I lost them but had lost all of the first Christmas shots and first photos with Grandparents, first smiles. It's not possible to accidentally delete on my camera so I assumed the camera wasn't picking them up, but my pc couldn't find any either.
I mentioned the mishap to quite a few people until one geeky friend said it was possible the camera's memory card was faulty, and that somehow the photos were still there, although they appeared to be deleted. They also said that you can sometimes recover deleted photos from a camera memory card. Apparently most of the photo's information is usually left alone when pictures get deleted and only a little bit of the file information is actually removed.
DH looked on the net and found this site called www.RecoverDeletedPictures.com that explained just what to do to recover the photos - (don't take any new pictures in the meantime is the best advice it seems).
So, I just followed the instructions, plugged the memory card into the PC (my PC has a memory card slot, but you can plug the camera in using its cable if yours hasn't) and used the free trial version of the photo recovery software it recommends to find all my deleted photos. It even showed all the ones it found in a little preview window so I could see what it was doing! It was so simple!
I was amazed that it found all my precious baby photos - and even our holiday photos from 9 months ago that I'd purposely deleted! How good is that!
I didn't know that you could recover deleted photos before this happened, but I'm so impressed at how easy it was. I'd recommend you click here if you ever need to recover deleted camera pictures of your little one (or anything else of course!).
