Does anyone use a rear facing car seat for child or baby over 12 months old. Am planning to do so, but not much info in uk, although always used abroad. Be grateful for any advice.

rearfacing.co.uk is great for info.
You can get rear facing seats from Brio, BeSafe, Britax, Recaro etc.
Many more places sell them now such as Babyworld,
www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk/shop/rearward-facing-seats.html
www.prams-pushchairs.co .uk/

just to name a few

My 19 month old is in the Britax one - it's been fine for us (although I wouldn't use it for a newborn as it seems to upright - we had a maxi-cosi for the first 9 months).

hi yes, we have ds 21 months in a britax two way elite. we got it from www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk. the website www.rearfacing.co.uk has lots of info on it.

Hi. We use the Britax first plus rear facing. Bulky but DD 14 months looks comfortable. Have noticed that it fits very differently between different makes of car depending on seat angle. The rear facing models popular in Scandanavia are very bulky and not really suitable for a smaller car so the Britax made most sense for us.

bluefootedpenguin that's not always true. there is more room in the front seat of my mums clio than im my golf! not sure how that works but it does depend on each car!

the only problem with the first class is that it only rf to 13kgs the same as most baby carrier seats and then have to turn ff.

Sorry, was only thinking of using seat rear facing in rear of car.
