half decent childrens music cds - do they exist?

I'm looking to do a cd overhaul as I am just so sick of the nursery rhyme cds we have on in the car - and the kids are getting too old for these now. Does anyone have any suggestions for any childrens cd's that are reasonable and not nursery rhymes.. think St winifreds school choir for 2010!!!!

I started out recording traditional kids songs with my daughter but with a bluesy/ folky twist. You might like it... But then, you might not!!!!! You might also find my new blog interesting,,,, www.thehappyape.com

My dh also couldn't find much music he really liked for kids so he has written his own. You can check it out at www.youtube.com/channel/UCvtxuvrI4Tx9CXFp_QonOzw. It includes loads of classic nursery rhymes but is done in a dub reggae style which means its probably really good for loads of Dads. You should have seen my d1's friends dancing to it at her birthday party ;)

We have a great one called 'Colours are Brighter' which has a good mix of songs. Our kids always want it on in the car.

Also they love the Putamayo CDs especially 'World Playground'
