Butcher's block/ freestanding kitchen unit

I've got a smallish kitchen with not enough storage space (and we're a bit short on flat surfaces really). However, there is 'empty' space which could be filled with an unit.
I can't get any more of the built in kitchen units as they were end of line.

The space is currently home to a basket holding wine bottles (all very cheap Italian restaurant and cluttered!) and this butcher's block but it isn't satisfactory really because it's too small, has open storage and is basically rickety.

I'm looking for something more cupboard-y, perhaps a bit bigger. I've seen this unit at Scotts of Stow but I've not bought from them before and don't know whether they're reputable/good quality. Anybody bought from them or know about them?

Any better suggestions? I'm happy to pay properly for a decent unit.

p.s. my entire house is rustic in style (converted barn). The kitchen, which I didn't put in, is pale wood with some stainless steel touches, and lovely stone tiles. The work surfaces are beautiful slate tragically plastic granite effect.
