I'm hoping that some of you lovely Mums will have used Naughty Baby cloth nappies from Ebay.

I've been recommended them as much cheaper alternative to Bumgenius but would like to see some reviews before I buy.

Would be very grateful if anyone could comment here, create a review on the reviews board, or contact me personally

Many thanks

I ordered these nappies off ebay, I have 12, in my opinion do not buy them. I was using Terry squares since dd was 5 months old with nature baby wraps, other than the over night thing have had no issues, oh once I started using fleece liners that was, only use these sort of liners in washables as your baby will get nappy rash, with these they do not.

Anyway after going off track, naughty baby nappies, I thought great, the answer, we could not afford close parent or bumgenious so we got these, what a big mistake that was, for a number of reasons, here they are,

  1. They are very hard to wash. I looked on the nappy sites and followed how to wash pocket nappies, most you can wash at 60, these you can not. It says 30 or under, even though I did 40. I tried 60 once and the nappy clearly did not like it, all the mico inserts had stuck to all the stuck down velcro tabs and the velcro had all come unstuck in the machine due to the temp, so any more than this happening once or twice then the nappies would have been useless. Also washing my wipes at this temp, now are all covered in poo stains, and the micro inserts came out with brown specs on, looking closely this was tiny bits of high fibre weetabix poo that had not washed due to the low temp.

  2. This one is a big one, they leave terrible red marks on your babies legs, so bad that the marks took 3 days to heal on my dd, this is after we stopped using them and went back to terry's and nature baby wraps. My baby is a small 15 month old in 9 to 12 month baby clothes, so as you can imagine not a large child, and on her these nappies were very tight and the elastic is cheap and hard. She would at change time cry and put her hands to her legs, my husband also was concerned about the marks.

  3. The poppers, I have never had one popper come undone on my nature baby wraps, but with these they just do not stay done up, so for a smaller baby these nappies would not work.

  4. I have tried to contact the seller lots of times, with every email ignored unless it is to do with payment of money, she did agree to accept back my second set of nappies that had not even been delivered to me, but I was told when I received them I had to pay for the postage back and I could not have my money back untill she had her nappies.

These nappies are really not worth £49, they look great, don't get me wrong, when they came I was over the moon, they looked so nice, just like bumgenious, but after the leg issues I contacted 3 nappy sites, all said bumgenious nappies are of very high quality, and they cost what they do due to the investigations into how a nappy should fit a baby and what material is best. I will be truthful, I can not afford bumgenious nappies, I wash every other day, I would need 24 nappies, we just could not afford that, so I compromised with terry squares in a kite shape with a fleece liner and pre folded, I find these great, they are all stacked in my dd wicker basket like disposables would be, I take one out pop it under bum and do up with a nappi nipper, takes a second, I do have though good quality nature babies wraps. This company I can not speak so highly of, the owner is wonderful, we had issues with the velcro wraps, she sent me two free nature babies popper wraps as a good will gesture, then i bought more wraps. Truthfully try terry squares, I think you will be pleasently surprised and even shocked at how easy they are, I fold ten nappies in 1 min, my husband has timed me, and the kite fold is a piece of cake, forget the worry's of complicated folds, it just is not like that. I will say, for at night buy maybe 4 boosters to add in but in the day you will not need these, and use nature baby fleece liners, you save a packet, I have 24 nappies for £39.98 and 4 medium wraps for £8 each, I did go for the pretty ones though not the white which are cheaper. And the liners, well they send you off cuts to try them free, or make your own, an asda smart price fleece blanket, works wonders. Truthfull, Naughty baby nappies are a waist of money. Ps, I am a nanny and have used loads of brands of washable nappy, these are far below the quality of any I have used.

Have had similar problem with Naughty Baby nappies re lack of response. Was delighted at first with their ease of use. However, after a month of use, the velcro fasteners started coming part and hence the nappy wouldn't stay closed.

Having written to Naughty Baby, requesting a replacement or money back, there has been no reply. They only seem to sell via EBay and there's something a bit dodgy about them. Starting to feel that we were ripped off.

Avoid.

I sold mine on within a few wears. I was a dedicated BumGenius user, and these (despite the evangelism about them on other baby sites) were not a patch on the real thing. Performance was not as good as BG, and they just generally looked cheap and nasty. But others love 'em, so....

I recently bought Naughty Baby (this thread was done in 2010 and now it is 2014) and I wanted to say that I love them! They don't leak, they have nice patterns, they are pocket diapers with nice microfiber or cb inserts. They are not difficult to clean and the snaps haven't come off. I started using with my DS since 5kg and they work perfect. I don't like BG as much compared to these and the price makes them worth the buy.
