My mobile phone does this, and on Virgin pay as you go, I get to use the internet for 40p per day. Not wifi reliant.

DH got mine for Christmas last year. It's a Samsung U600, but there are probably other more recent models that will also do the same thing.

Mine is very pocket-sized! The only thing is that the internet browsing works best on sites you are familiar with as you have to navigate around the page and then zoom in to the bit you want so that you can actually read it. Works well enough for me, but I only use it occasionally (e.g. to check where my nearest Krispy Kreme was when pg lol).

I also have the Samsung U600 now! but on payg so the internet is a bit pricy. Camera is optional, but I'm probably being a bit dense but how do you connect an itouch to wifi? i have BT broadband I guess that is sufficient?

if you have wifi at home then the itouch will just connect to it (password etc needed). same when out and about and using wifi hotspots. Easy to connect, and if the itouch doesn't pick up the network automatically, a quick tap on the settings button gets it sorted out easily.

Where are you wanting to use the mobile internet bit? If just at home mostly, then itouch will work well. I have one, and it is so easy to use, very clear screen, easy to zoom in etc. But it is a hassle in the wider world (wifi hotspots in shopping centres, etc) as you have to log on al the time.

I have a sonyericsson phone - good camera, has internet access, but I only use that in emergencies as don't have internet in my monthly cost. On 3 you can add ti on for £5 per month though, which isn't too bad.
